The background

We were approached by Tourism North-East to build a custom WordPress plugin for the Falls Creek website. The plugin had to integrate with the page builder, Beaver Builder.

The project

The goal of the plugin was to display the Falls Creek weather report; this was a critical feature on the Ski Resort’s website. The module also required three tabs that when opened, revealed the sections below.

A Videos tab that would display videos selected from the Falls Creek YouTube channel.

A Cams tab that would display the various Falls Creek live snow cams. This feature is used by millions of visitors during Victorian ski season.

A Social tab that displays three social feeds Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

The result

The module required a set of three tabs which opened in the section below it.

The Videos tab links to selected Falls Creek YouTube videos that are automatically optimised.

The Cams tab links to live streaming videos placed in popular areas around Falls Creek.

The Social tab randomly showcases posts from the Falls Creek social media channels. A feature was also added to filter the posts according to the social media channel. Another feature for this tab is a magnified version on the left of the module when you click on a thumbnail version of the post. The visitor is also able to click through to older posts.

The module looks good! I like the hover effect, layout and styling.
